A trophy fish serves
as a daily reminder of that special trip shared with family or
friends. For some, the outing takes place at a local farm pond or
lake, for others, the fish was caught half way around the world.
Wherever in the world you fish, whatever in the world you catch, chances
are, we have a fish to match the one you released. We guarantee the
quality of our replicas. If the finished reproduction does not
exceed your expectations, we will replace it, repaint it, or refund your
money, no questions asked.
We have access to literally thousands of fiberglass replicas for fresh
and saltwater fish. Fish reproductions are made by molding an
actual fish. Every scale, every fin ray, every small detail shows
up in the finished replica. The quality of reproductions today is
fantastic.
Measurements
It is important
to have an accurate length and girth measurement of the fish before you
release it. Most fishermen don't carry a flexible tape measure with
them but there is an easy way to record those measurements. Lay the
fish down and stretch a piece of fishing monofilament line down the side
of the fish beginning at the tail and ending at the head. Cut the
line to the exact length of the fish. Take a second piece of line
and wrap around the body of the fish at the largest place (usually
near the belly) and cut the line to exact length. Snap a few photos
and carefully release the fish.. Coil the pieces of mono and put
them in your wallet for safe keeping until you find a tape measure.
When we are supplied with good photos, we'll custom match our painting
to what that individual fish looked like. In addition to color,
photos are very helpful in other ways. Most trout species vary
considerably in overall anatomy between males and females, particularly
the shape of the head.
